Mid-April and it’s still raining – the perfect opportunity to get some interiors painted! That’s exactly what we did this month in North Vancouver.
The hallways began from looking dark and grubby, with ugly wallpaper and depressing colors. You'd be shocked to walk in now, and see them today: neat, clean and almost bright. Nice neutral color palette, vintage furniture in the lobby, and modern light fixtures throughout – it has been a nice upgrade! We call it a common area makeover!
When we removed the wallpaper (so typical of older hallways to have hideous old wall covering in them!), some ugly mold was discovered. The drywall definitely had to be replaced. No one could have foreseen that. One really never knows what is hiding underneath wallpaper.
New boards up, plaster, primer and two coats of paint – all done. Nice and neat, clean and new.
We also installed stainless steel corner guards,
just by elevator area, where the corners usually take a lot of beating – now they are protected – less maintenance ‘headache’ for the owners!
We’ll be back to install new carpet and tiles in this building as well; but that story will have to wait for the next post.
